Day 31: My Little Bro & the Grammy's

Today has been pretty good! I went to church and then I have just chilled with my little brother and watched tv with him today....which I love! I never get to spend much time with Jeff anymore because we have school and work and friends and sports and music, so it is always fun just to chill with him every once and a while! We usually just watch tv together when we hang out but we always end up teasing each other and having fun! I am going to miss him when I go to college. I do not know what I am going to do without being able to tease him everyday!
Besides just having a good day with Jeff, I am have, and still am, watching the Grammy's. I love the Grammy's, it is the best awards show ever! You get to watch the awards part of the show, but you also get to watch all of the performances too! The other part I love is seeing all the different outfits that everyone shows up in! Some are just horrific, but others are just drop dead gorgeous! Well I am off to watch some more of the Grammy's......TOOTLES

Day 30: Michael Buble

Can I just say something?!?!?!? I LOVE MICHAEL BUBLE!!!!! Holy cow he is A-MAZ-ING!!!! I got his new cd for christmas and that is all I have really listened to in my car since then! Here are my reasons I love Michael Buble:
1. He is sexy
2: He can sing
3: He has a sexy singing voice
4: He sings good music. He does not sing the new hip music crap that you hear now, but he sings like all the old 40's music which is amazing.
5: I love all the elements of his music like the lyrics, the instrumentals, the intervals, the music keys (wow there is my Ap music moment for the day)
I mean come on.....how is he not sexy?!?!?!?! I love him!!! I would recommend his newest CD, Crazy Love, to everyone, especially if you like that really laid back, sweet sounding, 40's type music! The CD is just amazing! My most favorite song is probably Cry Me a River, however I also love Georgia on My Mind, Hold On, Havent Met You Yet, All I Do is Dream of You and Heartache Tonight! He is coming in concert on March 31st and wish I could go but I dont have a spare $200 laying around....bummer! All I have to say is........He. Is. AMAZING!!!!!!

Day 29: Boring-ness

I do not have much to say today. Nothing has really gone on, so there is nothing to report on. My YW's won our soccer game yesterday, which rocked. We won 4 to 1 and I made one of those goals!!! I have never scored a goal before!!!!!!!!! Other than that.....nothing. I had early morning rehearsal this morning. I went to school. I went to work. I picked up my dress. um......yup, that pretty much sums everything up! I have rehearsal in the morning and I need to work and send in scholarship stuff, but other than that......I am pretty much boring, so I am going to go sit and relish in my boring-ness ;D

Day 28: NEW MUSIC

Ok so since I didnt write much last night, I just wanted to say the New Beginnings yesterday went awesome!!!! I am so glad everything turned out well and everyone had a good time and liked it! There is one thing I did learn though......planning something like that is a lot harder than I thought! I have no idea how my leaders do it all the time...so leaders, I bow down to you and cannot thank you enough for all the time and effort you put into making young womens so great! Also thank you to all my old leaders who did all that and still look out after us young women! THANK YOU GUYS SOOOOO MUCH!!!!! I LOVE YOUR GUTS!!!!!
As for today....pretty much nothing happened, other than.....I GOT MUSIC!!! I know that sounds lame, but let me explain!
The other night I was looking on USU's music website to look at scholarships and stuff. Well come to find out, scholarships, for music, are only offered for music majors.....which is BEYOND lame!!!!! So I guess I can cross that off my list. But I kept looking through it to see what else music wise was going on up at USU and I came across the USU Symphony page and I was so excited! Auditions are the first week of school and we have to play a excerpt for auditions, so I emailed the conductor and got the excerpt....earlier than it was suppose to be available!!!!! So now I have an excerpt to practice, which is excellent because the notes are easy but it is in a three eight time where a dotted quarter note equals a tempo of 86.......and for those of you need me to translate what I just said.....THIS MUSIC IS FREAKING FAST!!!!! So I am now off to look at this music, so I can than practice this music, so come the 1st week of school I can play this song in my sleep and get into the symphony!!!!!!! Tootles

Day 27: Close Call

So I got home from New Beginnings tonight (which went awesome), watch some idol, wrote and essay and decided oh......it is 10:30pm, I should go to bed. So I hoped right into bed, read my scriptures, turned out my light, closed my eyes and realized that I hadnt blogged yet today!!!!! So here I am at 10:50pm.....blogging!!!! What a close call!!!!! So now I am headed off to bed.....for real this time! Goodnight!

Day 26: Uneventful Day

Today was.......uneventful! Nothing went on today which was kinda nice. I learned how the Central Nervous System works and worked on some Solo and Ensemble stuff for orchestra and passed the first quarter of my online government class, but that is about it! I also worked on 3 AP Music Theory assignments and worked on some things for my Young Women's New Beginnings which is tomorrow.....which I am super excited for too, but that is about it!!! So for now...I am off to watch some America Idol and then go to bed in a little while! Tootles!!!!

Day 25: Nordstroms

So today was a good, but long day! I had my FCCLA Star Event thing today which ended up being fun by slightly stressful....but lunch was fantastic! We went to the BYU student center thing for lunch and it was delicious! It was all you could eat and the best part.......we didn't even have to pay!
The really cool part to today was my Nordstroms Fashion Board meeting! Today we met with the Visual manager and learned everything that the job encompasses! I didn't realize all that goes into being a visual manager besides dressing the mannequins! Even though mannequins are a huge part of the job, they also decorate the store for the holidays, switch out and make the window displays, manage all the displays in all the departments, work with special events and work with models when they come in for a show and what not. It was sooooo cool to see and hear all what the visual manager and team does. We also had the chance to do what the visual team does....as a challenge we got to dress a mannequin which was really fun! The funny part is that it was a lot harder to do than I thought it would be to do! It was just really cool to see everything that goes on! It really makes me start to think that maybe working in a field like that is something that I would really like to do as a career! It is so cool to see all the behind scene works and see everything that goes on to make Nordstroms.......well....Nordstroms! I LOVE FASHION!!!!!

Day 24: Star Event

So am I kinda freaking out a little for tomorrow, but at the same time I am really excited. Tomorrow I have to be to school by 7am so I can leave, with several other kids, to head down to BYU for the FCCLA Area Star Event. This event is an event where all FCCLA kids in the area go show off their projects that they are working on. There are several categories that are shown throughout this whole thing. I am in the fashion construction category, but there are also categories like recycle and redesign and stuff for preschool teachers too!
For this event, I am using my prom dress that I am making in my clothing class. I am not done with it, but luckily you pretty much just have to show up to the Area Event to go to state. I am not sure what to expect, but from what it sounds like, this whole thing is just a big science fair for FCCLA members, but instead of experimenting with things, you are making things!
I am kinda nervous because I do have to present stuff to judges and everything and I do not know what to expect at all, but I hope it goes well! The plus side to this whole thing......They feed us lunch, we get bused down there so I dont have to waste gas and I get to hang with my friends all day! The down side..........I have to go spend the day at BYU.....I hope my Aggies will forgive me ;D

Day 23: Wrong Decade

I have decided that I have born in the wrong era. I want to live in the 1920's-1940's, minus the whole depression thing. Today I went to help clean out the kitchen at my great grandma's house and when mom didn't need my help, I went downstairs to look through all my granny's old jewelry. Back in the 40's my granny worked at the Paris Company which was the high class store way back when. Well over the years of working there, she got a ton of the products! When I went downstairs, I looked through two dressers full of jewelry, scarves, gloves and purses!!!!! I freaking love it!!! It is sooooo amazing to look at what used to be and how people use to dress! I love fashion and so much of it started out in the twenties with some amazing designers. The twenties was truly a decade of amazing fashion with the whole flapper look. I find it amazing that women tried so hard to look less womanly, but they were still looked amazing and with the shapeless dresses and the short haircuts!!! The 1920's was amazing!!!!!

Day 22: YAY

I've got lots to do tonight so my post wont be long, but I just wanted to say one thing........THANK GOODNESS IT IS THE WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 21: The Dress

Oh sweet amazing-ness............I FOUND A SWEETHEARTS DRESS!!!!!!!! I honestly never thought I would find one, but I found one and I love it!!!!
It is a turquoise blue dress that comes right above the knee. It is strapless but I am having it altered to put sleeves on it!!!!! It is empire waist with a jewel thing-a-ma-bob at the center of the waist line and it has pleat things that come away from the jewel!!!! I love it and on top of everything..........I GOT IT FOR HALF OFF!!!!! With adding the alterations on it will still cost less than the original dress!!!!! It just freaking rocks!!!!!
I will post pictures when it is all altered and done!!!!! I'm sooooo excited!!!! My goal was to wear a dress that would make my dates jaw drop when he opens the door and I think this dress just might do it......at least I hope it is the dress that will make his jaw drop!!!!!!! Now the only thing left to do.......is find shoes!!!!!!!!

Day 20: Chocolate Milkshake

So one of my best friends, Kenzie, sends me this text while I am in 2nd today and says....You know what I love you to freaking death and because I know you have had a hard week I am taking you out to lunch cuz calories are good for the soul. Well I told her she didnt have to, but I finally caved so today for lunch we hit the Arby's where I got a beef and cheddar with some fries and a chocolate shake! Pretty much this last week has been super crappy and I have been feeling pretty lousy, but after I had that chocolate shake, I felt much better. So I have come to this conclusion: Best friends who always love you and are watching out for you + a wonderful chocolate shake = The remedy for a good day!!!!! On top of that I sat through my entire T.A. class listening to Hayden sing Bohemian Rhapsody and the Beetles and talking and laughing with my other friends!!!! Thanks everyone for making my day better!!!

Day 19: North and South

So last night after I went dress looking, I went over to my friend, Kaitlyn's house to watch a movie and chill. My friend Lauren has been talking about this is amazing movie called North and South, so me, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Aly and Aly's boyfriend Kyle got together and watched it......and Lauren is right.......it is AMAZING!!! It is one of those movies that is along the same lines as Pride and Prejudice, which is one of my most FAVORITES!!!! But this movie is amazing. It is actually a lot like Pride and Prejudice in that fact that girl meets guy. Girl hates guy. Guy falls in love with girl. Guy proposes. Girl rejects him. They both move on. Girl realizes guy is amazing. Guy and girl fall in love and live happily ever after!!!! I have only seen half way through it cuz it is 4 hours long, but it is AMAZING!!! Also this movie contains the most romantic, passionate, amazing on-screen kiss I have ever seen!!!! It is just simple and romantic and amazing!!! I seriously cant get over this movie. John Thornton is incredibly sexy and it is just amazing! But I recommend this movie to anyone, especially if you like movies like Pride and Prejudice!!!

Day 18: The Hunt is On

So tonight I am starting the great adventure called Sweethearts Dress Looking. Sadly it sounds a lot easier than it is. Everything this season is short and strapless. The strapless thing isnt to much of a problem because there are these little things called jackets that are very handy, however the length could be a small problem. All the dresses this season are already super short to begin with, then you add on that I am 6 feet tall and all legs......yeah that all equals a small problem!!! I hope I can find something that works and if I do, I will post pictures!!!!!!
The next thing I get to worry about finding is shoes!!!!! I am SUPER excited for that one, my only worry is the cost. I have big feet so I might have to spend a little more on a freakingly awesome pair of shoes but that is ok because I don't care!!!! My date is 6' 5" and I can wear 4 inch heels if I want too!!!!!! I don't think I'll go that high, but I like having the option!!!!

Day 17: Family

I don't have much to say tonight, but I did want to say one thing really quick. Never let your family go. I know they are sometimes hard to get along with, but you never know what will happen. Just remember to love them and stick with them through the thick and the thin! I know it can be hard and I know that it is a challenge but it will all be worth it in the end!

Day 16: Family and Friends

I pretty much have the bestest family and friends ever! Today I got the opportunity to play the great babysitter. While all the parents were taking care of some stuff today, I baby sat my 8 year old cousins Reilly and Madison, my 18 month old cousin Hayden and my 16 month old cousin Hudson. My cousin Jordan and Jeff were out taking care of taking down christmas stuff, so I was on my own today....which was quite an adventure. Luckily everything went well......well almost everything, lunch kinda didnt work so well but that was ok because we had some ice cream after. We even got the little ones to fall asleep......I call that a success!!!!
On top of that, one of my bestest friends, Kathryn, took me out to go see a movie and get out of the house after the past couple days!!!! She is the bestest friend anyone could ask for and I love her to death!!!! I probably wouldnt survive without her! We went and saw Sherlock Holmes, which turned out to be really good!!!




This movie was great!!!! It turned out being way better than I thought it would be! All of three of the main characters were awesome!!! I just love Watson....he is one of my favorites in the books and the movie! Rachel McAdams also was amazing and plus....her costumes were AMAZING!!!!! I would highly recommend this movie to anyone...especially if you like the books!!!

Day 15: So Grateful

All I want to say today is that I am extremely grateful for the plan of salvation and the truth of a celestial and forever family! The gospel is an amazing thing, and I think we forget that until we are woken up by something. I am so grateful that God willingly sacrificed his life for me and my family so that we could make it back to him and be together forever!
Great granny......I love you and thank you for the great example you have been to me over the past 18 years of my life!! You are an amazing women and I have learned so much from you. You have shown me and helped me become who I am today! I love you so much!!!!

Day 14: Opera

So I will make this short cuz it is late but I just got home from the opera and I just wanted to say how fantastic it is. Me and my friend Paige went to the $3 dress rehearsal night and it rocked. The opera company did Carmen and it was freaking sweet. I knew the music to Carmen, but I didnt know the story line so I was really excited to see it!!!
Can I just say I love the opera. I have seen Aida, The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Macbeth, Carmen and one other one I cant think of, but they are all fantastic!!!! I just love sitting and listening to the music and the amazing singers. Speaking of music, the pit was freaking awesome tonight!!! I'm not sure if my cello teacher was playing in it tonight, but it still rocked. Carmen has a ton of cool cello parts.......I REALLY want to see the music!!!! Oh I just love it!!!! I would love to be able to play in an opera pit some day.....that would rock, but as for now, I am off to bed!!! Goodnight!!!

Day 13: Friends

I am really trying to figure out how this week is taking sooooo long to get over! I do not understand why it just keeps going!!!!! Not much went on today! All I really have to say is that I love my friends!!!! They are the most amazing people ever and I have no idea what I would ever do without them!!!! They are always there to give me a good laugh, lift my spirits and make me feel like a million bucks!!!! Thanks for being awesome and amazing everyone!!! You brighten up my day and I love you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!

Day 12: Lots To Do

Today I have soooooo much to get done that I thought I would take a minute, while I have the time sitting in my T.A. class for mom, and blog really quick! I have soooooo much to get done today when I get home from school, that it will be a miracle if I make it all the way until tomorrow! My check list for today:
-My final Humanities project
-Orchestra handout/sign-up things for sophomore orientation
-Orchestra scrapbook....I have sooooo much to scrapbook by tomorrow
-AP music theory homework
It doesnt look like a lot, but sadly each point contains like 50 bazillion sub categories, but that is ok....it is all stuff I enjoy doing so it could be worse!!!!
Well I am off to start this great adventure called Tuesday afternoon....wish me luck!!!

Day 11: A Long Day

Wow.....it has been a long day!!!!!!! A 6am rehearsal, a long school day, and homework...and it is only Monday. Man a live, I hope I can survive through this week! I just got to remember I have a 4 day weekend waiting for me just around the corner and a 4 day weekend means......SHOPPING!!!!! YAY FOR SHOPPING, but as for right now I bid you all a goodnight!!!

Day 10: Too Much

Hey everybody.....I've got to write an essay for humanities that is due tomorrow...so no time to write anything tonight!!!! Goodnight!!!

Day 9: Not Sneaky

So today was highly entertaining!!!! So today I finally asked someone to Sweethearts!!!!! So here is the low down!
I asked Anthony and what I did was get a basket and put goldfish, swedish fish, and finding nemo fruit snacks in it and I put a note with it that said: Out of all the fish in the sea, will you be the one who goes to Sweethearts with me?! Now to find out who I am, it's time to "Go Fish." I also put a deck of Go Fish cards in with everything and put the letters of my name on some of the cards! I know it is super cheesy, but it was fun!
The best part was when we dropped off the stuff. I went with my friend Kenzie and her sister Shelby. Well when we got there I pulled up in front and let Shelby out to go door bell ditch the stuff. Well while we were sitting there waiting for Shelby, Anthony's dad pulled up wanting to get into the drive way. Well so on top of us being in the way, I got stuck in a patch of ice. So pretty much me and my friends are extremely not sneaky!!!
All I have to say is that we had a great adventure and I can't wait for Sweethearts!!!!!

Day 8: Wish Me Luck

What a long day!!!!! I started out at 4:30am for Early Morning Rehearsal, which is always fun! I also finally got my haircut and I feel wonderful....I feel about ten pounds lighter too hahaha!!!! However, the greatest part of the day was going with my two friends to ask their dates to Sweethearts. For both of them, we did some serious door bell ditching. The first one was successful, however the second one I had to dodge a tree branch and I think I got whiplash lol! However on the plus side....I think I am going to ask someone to Sweethearts!!! I really wanted to ask someone, but I wasnt sure and I was really wishy-washy, but I think I am going to do it!!! Wish me luck!!!!!!

Day 7: Finally....the Real Fabric

So in my clothing II class we have this really big project we are working on, which I am basically excited to be working on cuz we are making.........A PROM DRESS!!!!!! I have started working on this project, however I haven't been able to start working with my real fabric yet. Before we started on our real fabric, we had to make a mock bodice, which is a bodice out of crappy fabric, so we could make all the alterations we needed before we started the real thing. Well as of today I get to cut out my real fabric and start sewing it!!! I finally finished my mock bodice today and it actually worked with all the alterations I had to make to it! I am so excited, that words cannot even describe how excited I am!!!! My dress is going to be a grassy green, with sparkles and poof and awesomeness!!!! I am soooooo excited that I finally get to start! I will keep you updated!

Day 6: A Good Day

Today was an excellent day! Today in orchestra, we had a walk down memory lane! Today mom pulled out some old pieces that we have played over the past couple years. We played Bohemian Rhapsody, Stairway to Heaven, Sweet Dreams are Made of These, and Hotel California!!! Stairway to Heaven has been one of my most favorite rock songs to play over the past couple years and being able to play it again brought back all the memories from my sophomore year! It was sooooo much fun!
On top of that, I was able to go help out my great grandma today and go to young womens! At young womens tonight we got to play dress up!!! Our over all theme tonight was Modest is Hottest.....which is SO true!!! We had to make modest clothes out of accessories and garbage bags and then we had a fashion show to show off the latest fashion!!! I had so much fun with the girls.....I LOVE hanging with all my cute young women!!!
Today was just a great day and I hope the rest of the week turns out the same!!!!

Day 5: B of M Challenge

Yesterday in seminary we received our next monthly challenge! For the month of January and February we have been challenged to read the entire Book of Mormon! I am really excited for this goal! Besides my integrity project for Personal Progress, the only project I have left is my project for virtue which is to read the whole Book of Mormon. I am so close to finishing my Personal Progress that this just means I will get it done that much sooner.
I am also really excited because last year we were challenged to read the Book of Mormon in a month, which I did, and I loved doing it! It was such a great way to get closer to my Heavenly Father and it made going throughout my day that much better! It was so much easier to concentrate and get things done and on top of that if just made my day that much better!
I can't wait to see how this all goes! I will keep you updated.....Goodnight!!

Day 4: The Bachelor

So I discovered today that I am pretty much the biggest cheese ball ever! The season premiere of the The Bachelor started today.......and I did NOT miss a minute!!! I started watching The Bachelor/Bachelorette when DeAnna was the bachelorette and I have not missed a season yet! Yes.....I know it is sad, but I find the whole thing very entertaining! This season Jake is the new Bachelor and he is rather attractive. I loved Kiptyn from last season and I was hoping he would become this seasons new Bachelor, but Jake will be a great Bachelor! He is a pilot from Dallas, he has super abs and he has the biggest smile of any Bachelor contestant I have ever seen! He was rejected last season by Jillian, but now he is back! I am so excited to see how this season goes.....I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Day 3: I Love School

So pretty much school starts tomorrow.......and pretty much I am basically excited for it to start tomorrow!!!! Call me crazy, but I love being busy and being able to get stuff done and feel accomplished!!! I love school! I love learning and hanging out with my friends and not being stuck at home. Now I am not so much a fan of having to wake up early and do all my homework, but that is a small price to pay. And with that all said it makes me realize that I am going to love college. Dang......i'm going to college in 7 months........ that FREAKING ROCKS!!!!!

Well as for now I am going to watch me some tv and then head off to bed! Goodnight!

Day 2: Christmas is Over

Well there ya have it.......Christmas is officially over. The Christmas tree is down, the lights are in their boxes and the furniture is back to where it belongs. The whole thing is slightly sad, but I am thankful that I have survived yet another Christmas.
As for the rest of the day.....homework (which is always exciting), chillin' at the mall with Kat and Sydnee then watching a movie and finishing up the day by snuggling up and watching Pride and Prejudice...........I don't think you can ask for a better day!!!!

New Years Resolutions

Finally......I HAVE STARTED A BLOG!!!! my friend Chelsea challenged our young women to blog for 365 days and I thought what better day to start then the very beginning of a new year!!! With that being said I would like to jot down just a few resolutions for the year of 2010!

Resolutions for 2010:
1. Graduate from high school
2. Move into college
3. Sew something amazing
4. Kiss a boy (yes....it WILL happen this year)
5. Watch all 10 seasons of Friends in a row

There ya have it....my resolutions. they are fun, they are cheesy, but who doesnt need a little of that in their lives! Happy New Year everybody!!!
